MKV FILES
To play this kind of movie format (.mkv) files, you must first have these!! ESSENTIALS!
Download and install these:
Now it should play perfectly in WMP or any other player you normally use to play ya movies. If you find that it doesn't, download the VLC Player. This player plays all formats of movies!!

This format is only viewable on computer. If you want this to run on ya DivX player or would like this on dvd, you might have to shop around for a video converter software e.g. AVS Video Converter to convert mkv back to (.avi). Great for those with DivX Player. AVS Video converter does a few formats, however, if you would like converter that does it all from avi to mp4's right through to psp, ipod, iphone ps3, xbox360 etc, try xilisoft video converter ultimate!
If you would like to side step this step, you might want to have a look at investing in a DVD Burning Software that can convert and burn MKV files, e.g. ConvertX2DVD. Great for those with DVD Players. ConverX2DVD is a good piece of software that it recognizes the MKV format like .AVI and converts, burns it straight to dvd. Unlike other dvd burning softwares where it won't work with MKV's, it only recognizes the traditional movie formats in which you will need 2 softwares, one to convert such as that stated above, AVS Video Converter and a DVD Burning Software.
WHY MKV?
Mkv in long represents Matroska. It is a video compressor that makes a standard 700MB single file movie into a 300MB movie size (depending on movie length & movie format - DVDRIP, Blue Ray Rip [BR Rip], HD Rip [High Def Rip] on its size) with no loss of quality! Same quality, smaller size!! Thats what you need when you want a movie, yet, you want to save megabytes on ya internet bandwidth!!
